The Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), Cross River State Chapter, has described a violent gunfire attack that disrupted a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) consultation meeting in Calabar as “deeply disturbing and unacceptable.”
Speaking on the incident, the State Chairman of IPAC, Engr. Effiom Edet Okon, stressed that political consultations are not warfare, campaigns are not battles, and political opponents must never be treated as enemies.
Our correspondent reports that the attack occurred in Calabar South, where PDP governorship candidate Sir Arthur Jarvis Archibong was leading supporters on a courtesy and consultation visit to a paramount ruler.
