Suspected bandits have killed two people, including a student of the Umaru Ali Shinkafi Polytechnic, Sokoto, and abducted some passengers after attacking a Golf vehicle travelling from Goronyo to Sokoto in the early hours of Monday.

Sources familiar with the incident told Daily Trust that the attackers stopped the vehicle at Hawan Ado while it was carrying 12 passengers.

A resident of Bijeje, who asked not to be named, said residents heard gunshots near the town and went out with local guns to protect the community.
