Two chieftains of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Dr. Bamidele Ekundayo (73) and Ilesanmi Omolayo (45) have been arraigned before a Chief Magistrate’s Court sitting in Ado-Ekiti for allegedly laying claim to and fighting over the position of state chairman of the party in Ekiti State.

The prosecutor, ASP Akinwale Oriyomi, told the court that the two defendants and others still at large, had on or before October 2, 2026, in Ado-Ekiti, within the Ado-Ekiti Magisterial District, unlawfully threaten violence in the community by both fighting over the state chairmanship of the ADC in Ekiti State.

ASP Oriyomi stated that the offense committed is punishable under Sections 181(1)(d), 69, and 421 of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State.
