The Kwande All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders loyal to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, have disclosed that they are waiting for Akume’s directive on which governorship candidate to vote for in the 2027 general elections as Benue State governor.
According to the stakeholders, they have endorsed the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the senator representing Benue North-East, Emmanuel Udende, and the member of the House of Representatives representing Kwande/Ushongo Federal Constituency, Terseer Ugbor, in 2027.
In a communiqué signed by the drafting committee team, Prof. Terwase Dzeka, Dr. John Pever, Amande Msughter and other stakeholders who attended the meeting in Adikpo, the headquarters of Kwande Local Government Area of the state, the stakeholders reaffirmed their commitment to working collectively for the success of the All Progressives Congress in Kwande.
The stakeholders expressed confidence that the party would record massive electoral victories across the local government in the 2027 elections.
“The party resolved that, with respect to other elective positions in the 2027 General Elections, the Kwande Chapter shall await further guidance and direction from the Leader of the Party, Senator George Akume,” the communiqué said.
The communiqué eulogised the contributions of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, to the development of Kwande, as well as his efforts in facilitating the appointment of several sons and daughters of Kwande into the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The communiqué explained that Kwande stakeholders had consulted extensively with the leadership of the party in Abuja and within Benue State and had arrived at a position which they had now brought before party leaders and stakeholders for consideration, with the objective of strengthening the APC and ensuring victory for the party in the 2027 elections.
“The party had resolved to work for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the re-election of Senator Emmanuel Memga Udende to the Senate, and the re-election of Hon. Terseer Ugbor to the House of Representatives, in order to ensure that Kwande remains strategically represented and positioned to have a strong voice in the next administration,” the communiqué explained.
