A former Deputy Governor of Yobe State, Alhaji Aliyu Saleh Bagare, has led political and government stakeholders from Nangere Local Government Area to pledge support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Alhaji Baba Malam Wali, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The stakeholders made the declaration during a solidarity visit to Wali at his residence in Damaturu on Thursday, where they also promised to mobilize massive votes for the APC across all elective positions.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Bagare, who is also the Madakin Tikau, described Wali as an experienced administrator, recalling that he served as Secretary to the Yobe State Government (SSG) for 13 years under the administrations of former Governor Ibrahim Gaidam and incumbent Governor Mai Mala Buni.
He said Wali played significant roles in both administrations and expressed confidence in his capacity to sustain the state’s development programs.
Bagare stated that the people of Nangere had endorsed Wali and his running mate, Barrister Saleh Samanja, as their preferred candidates for the 2027 governorship election.
He also assured that Nangere would mobilize support for all APC candidates in the presidential, National Assembly, governorship, and State House of Assembly elections.
The delegation included former APC State Chairman, Alhaji Adamu Chillariye; the Member representing Nangere/Potiskum Federal Constituency, Hajiya Fatima Talba; Head of Service, Abdullahi Musa Shehu; Commissioner for Works, Engr. Umaru Wakili Duddaye; members of the Yobe State House of Assembly; the Chairman of Nangere Local Government Council; the local government APC chairman; and the Auditor-General for Local Governments, among others.
Responding, Wali thanked the delegation for the visit, describing it as an opportunity to strengthen political engagement and discuss issues concerning the party and the development of the state.
He appreciated Bagare’s remarks about him and his running mate, assuring the stakeholders of his commitment to inclusive leadership.
The APC candidate also called for support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid, arguing that continued APC leadership at both the federal and state levels would create opportunities for further development in Yobe State and across the country.
He urged the stakeholders to intensify grassroots mobilization and work toward the party’s victory in all elective positions in 2027.
Wali assured the people of Nangere and other parts of the state that, if elected, his administration would ensure inclusive governance and carry all sections of the state along.
The visit was also attended by the APC State Chairman, Alhaji Mohammed Gadaka; party leader, Alhaji Mohammed Wali Shettima; and Special Adviser on Religious Affairs, Ustaz Babagana Malam Kyari, among other party stalwarts.
