Tinubu re-election grassroots drive launched in Taraba – Daily Trust

Ahead of the January 2027 presidential election, the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement has officially launched its grassroots mobilisation drive in Taraba State, making a strong push for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

A statement by the organization said the initiative, spearheaded by its Grand Patron, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo (famously known as Tompolo), kicked off in the state capital, Jalingo.

According to the statement, supporters argue that the President’s economic and administrative reforms require a second term to fully consolidate and yield long-term dividends for the nation.

Representing Tompolo at the launch, High Chief Kestin Pondi stated that Taraba State is already reaping the benefits of federal policies, stressing that continuity remains vital to sustaining these achievements.

“Taraba is thriving because President Tinubu has good reformation policies that are moving the state forward,” Pondi said, speaking on behalf of Tompolo. “If we want those policies to continue and be more solid—to consolidate on them—we need to give the President another four years.”

Pondi noted that another four-year mandate would ensure prompt salary payments for civil servants while giving Governor Agbu Kefas adequate stability to advance state development projects.

He pointed to reduced fuel queues and stabilized academic calendars in public universities as evidence of reform progress.

Acknowledging that structural reforms often carry short-term pain, he urged patience: “Every policy reformation will always come with its own challenges, but once we bear a little and they pass, we will go to the smooth road we are to ride on.” He urged movement members to take the re-election campaign to every household, place of worship, ward, and polling unit across the state.

Addressing the gathering, Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas reaffirmed his state’s alignment with the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda, promising massive voter turnout for the President in 2027.

“Taraba is ready. You don’t need to tell the people of Taraba State what the President is doing; they are seeing what the President is doing through me,” Kefas said. “I want to assure you that we are going to turn out en masse and give the President 100 percent votes.”

Highlighting the political momentum, National Coordinator of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, Sunday Asuku, cautioned against altering the nation’s political trajectory, describing the All Progressives Congress (APC) platform as the surest route for national growth.

To bolster the campaign’s field operations across the state’s local government areas, the event concluded with the donation of 25 campaign vehicles alongside power generators and public address systems.
